| Abstract | Central sensitization is defined operatively as an amplification of neuronal signaling within the central nervous system (CNS) that causes hypersensitivity to pain, manifests clinically, if it presents dynamic tactile allodynia, punctual hyperalgesia of secondary pressure and sensory posterior effects. In this case we mention the articulation of the knee, giving it an anatomical, biomechanical approach and a physiotherapeutic treatment, mentioning the clinical descriptors for its evaluation. Osteoarthritis is also widely described as it is a very common pathology in articular cartilage, mentioned the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment, as well as giving guidelines to patients to provide them with better quality of life, since this pathology is irreversible. It is important to emphasize that clinical descriptors for central sensitization help in the process of clinical reasoning, since they contribute to make the treatment effective for the patient. The therapeutic approach aims to desensitize the CNS in contrast to the various therapeutic modalities. |
