| Abstract | Fertilized water management focuses on providing natural food in the water to form flocks composed of algae, bacteria and food residue concentrate. The aim was to compare the survival of fingerlings in fertilized water with formulas with carbon relationships as follows: nitrogen ratio of 9, 16 and 23. The formulas contained different combinations of molasses, wheat bran, lucerne, sodium bicarbonate and 15-15-15 fertilizer . The experimental units were cells with dimensions of 5.8 × 4.2 × 1.0 m seeded at a density of 8,000 fingerlings per cubic meter. There were three trial repetitions, each repetition spaced by ten days. There was an Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and mean separation (Duncan) with the results of survival of fingerlings using the "Statistical Analysis System (SAS ®)”;with a significance level of P ≤ 0.05 . All water quality results were in the appropriate range for tilapia culture. We found an inverse relationship between the concentration of oxygen at 6:00 am and the concentration of suspended solids in the water on the tanks throughout the days of the trial. The total number of fingerlings used in the trial was approximately 1,760,000;, which had an overall survival rate of 85%. We found significant differences between treatments for the survival of fingerlings. Fingerlings seeded in tanks where water was fertilized with C:N 9 had higher survival |
