| Abstract | The study covered 110 crossbred fatteners [ Pietrain x ( Polish Large White Polish Landrace)], reared in standard conditions and slaughtered at an average body weight of 105 kg. Carcasses were tested in accordance with the method used in the Polish Pig Testing Station. The study evaluated the quality of carcass and meat of pigs depending on colipase gene (CLPS). A significant effect on some characteristics connected with lean content of the carcass was shown as well as on fat content. No statistically significant differences were shown in relation to the features of the meat quality. |
