| Abstract | A new species of fresh water crab, Hypolobocera olgaluciae n. sp., is described from Rio Chancos, Departamento del Valle del Cauca, Colombia. The species can be distinguished from its closest associate within the genus, H. buenaventurensis (Rathbun, 1905), by the size and shape of the lateral lobe, the number of protuberances on transversal ridge of the cephalic surface and, the structure of the apex of the gonopod. With this new species the number of valid species in western Colombia is increased to 21. |
