| Abstract | Far from going deep in the long discussions centered in the social character of the archaeology, problematic the immediate one which it happens, and from which left in this work, is the one of the relation of archaeology with "the social thing". Problematic happiness takes implicit the number of representations by which the subjects apprehend the reality and they resignification it. Of this form, we can think that all policy oriented towards the preservation and conservation of the heritage had to emerge from the joint of that multiplicity of representations, or as much of the archaeologist as of the community. We thought that this instance of joint, which is shaped in the policies of preservation of the heritage, is one of the fundamental nuclei from which it leaves all construction of knowledge (scientist). Said of another way, the objetivacion (from the language) of this joint on the part of the investigator is the one that gives account of the relation between the archaeological disciplines with "the social thing", mentioned previously. Since, archaeology, does not deal with only the subjects in relation to the material objects which we have (and all its relations and interpretations), but that in addition with all those that, either by a common history that it unites them to that patrimony, or by an appropriation, or by a certain interest, we cannot reduce to the same one to practices and distant actions broken ties with all the resignificaciones that, of some way, tie that past with this present. In the case of underwater archaeology, we think that this one must make a double effort at the time of thinking or giving with this joint. The difficulty is, mainly, in "the often no tangible" characteristics of the underwater heritage. Characteristics that are accentuated still more if we thought it within the context of which they comprise (in this Latin America case) and in everything what has to do with the management of the same one at the time of counting on necessary means for its conservation. In the wreck of Reta we were, on the one hand, with a patrimony that are "visible" and "easily concrete" for people, and on the other hand with the representations that the community had around the same one: they were the rest of a galleon. Imaginary saying went gaining force at the moment at which the beginning of the archaeological work considered, but once this it had begun appeared a new question, no longer was it not only a "galleon", but that; in addition, the rest of the same one could not be exposed. The fundamental interest of the neighbors of the Bath, increased with the results that could be obtained from the excavations, was, somehow, the tourist resource that could be obtained from the history of wreck. It is as well as it arises a joint, necessary, between the archaeologists and the neighbors of the community, whose main axis is in, by a side the problems of preservation, conservation and valuation of the heritage (since the rest cannot be extracted of the place where are, but for that reason they are not less significant), and on the other hand to foment the tourism in Challenges from other resources that do not imply the putting in scene of the original rest of wreck. In this type of work we want to emphasize the importance of the archaeological work as far as the preservation and valuation of the underwater heritage, and that in addition contributes to the construction of a social character of the discipline, in the sense of the commitment (politician) that implies the last relation - present. Nevertheless, this present interpretation of that past no longer is exclusive and it cannot only be exclusive of the investigators. |
