Abstract	Maize cultivation infested with Perkinsiella saccharicida Kirkaldy (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) in the Southern of Ciego de Avila province, Cuba, was observed. This constitutes the first report of P. saccharicida as an insect pest on maize cultivation for the country.
