| Abstract | This study deals with the contents of Nickel and Vanadium in the heavy oils that pollute the coasts from the U.S. border to Ensenada, Baja California. lieavy oil exists or,l the beaches and cliffs fromthe high tide, or swash line, to the low tide line; also in the marine depths along the coast of the study area at an approximate distance of up to four kilometers from de coast. This oil appears in the form ofa film over the sediment, like curds or small floating drops. Often ti mes, it is found absorbed in the sediment. The results obtained conce? ning the concentration of Vanadium and Nickel and the ratio Vanadium,: to Nickel can not be used to establish the origin of the oil pollutan ts. It can only be used if one assumes a maximum of four strongly sus _ pected origins. |
