Abstract	Practitioners’ interest in business intelligence is still increasing. However, existing systems are not very efficient on the whole. Hence, our team keeps on trying to produce practical and theoretical knowledge by maintaining close relationships with organizations. In doing so, we have identified a major issue : the selection of business intelligence information. First, we highlight related knowledge out of which some recommendations are emerging to improve the situation. Though, we present their implementation within a major French orgnization. We insist on participants’ reactions throughout the collaboration. These observations contribute to some experience feed-back. Hypothesis are formulated about the nature of the selection process, the conditions for its success and its interdependencies with other aspects of business intelligence. The concept of collective strategic intelligence is emerging.
