| Abstract | Etude et conception de structures à base de métamatériaux pour application iii aux circuits microondes et antennes Abstract Metamaterials have attracted great attention in recent years due to their unusual electromagnetic properties and their ability to guide and control electromagnetic waves where natural materials cannot. The resonant metamaterials, in particular the split ring resonator and its complementary, of very small dimensions compared to wavelength, studied in this thesis, exhibit band-stop properties and negative permeability or negative permittivity in a narrow frequency band around its resonances. These frequency bands are perfectly and easily controlled in terms of frequency selectivity and rejection level, by adjusting a variety of parameters. As a result, these resonators are designed and optimized to be applied to the design of new structures such as band-notched UWB antennas, filters and diplexers. The obtained results confirm that the metamaterial resonators, considered within the context of this thesis, improve considerably the performance of the targeted applications. |
