Abstract	The remarkable success in the stock’s market, that has achieved the prestigious investor Warren Buffett, encouraged to Mary Buffett y David Clark to compile his investment strategies into a book series called Buffettology. These books explain in a concrete, clear and concise way, Buffett’s investment strategy being applied exclusively to United States market. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the level of applicability and effectiveness that would have the same methodology, in a country with an emerging economy, such as Colombia nowadays. This evaluation consists in a qualitative and quantitative analysis, which allows it to indentify the Colombian companies with a durable competitive advantage, and consequently, to establish the best investment opportunity in the long term. The analysis showed as a result, a low level of applicability, due to the deficiencies in this sector and a high percentage of price competitive business operating in the market. Posteriorly, some proposals are made to optimize the results that offer the Buffettology, like the possibility to fuse this strategy with the technical analysis, and in this way, when both methodologies are being used jointly, it will improve the results that both of them offer in a individual way.
