| Abstract | The antennas presented here will be tested in the field for the abovementioned application of tree-frog searches as soon as the transceiver is finished. An important improvement of the accuracy of direction finding and detection range is expected, due to the good characteristics of the antennas. 5. CONCLUSION A new dual-port dual-frequency coaxial dual-helical antenna with high decoupling has been studied and realized using two different techniques. The second technique, using massive copper wires supported by a foam core, is easier to realize and has a higher decoupling between ports. It has been proven experimentally that the influence of one helix on the other is small, and that a good decoupling can be obtained. This structure forms a circularly polarized antenna that is very compact, high-performance, and lightweight. ACKNOWLEDGMENT The author gives special thanks to Manuel Leitos, who designed special tools and manufactured the foam core for this antenna. |
