| Abstract | Grouting is a more and more used construction procedure which increases strength of soils. Cement grouts injected under pressure are widely used. But the use of chemical solutions can be more fitted as their low viscosity enables them to penetrate through very small pores. ln the research workpresented here, the grout is a new polymerused for the stabilization of calcareous sands which presents weakmechanical characteristics. The treating consisting on grouting consolidation is studied under two aspects. The first aspect is relative to the strengthening of calcareous sands. The experimentation based on laboratory testing of soil mechanics is conducted with samples previously grouted. The strength increase is evaluated relatively to the main injection parameters. The second aspect concern the possibly use of this new chemical grout ro improve the bearing capacity of piles driven into calcareous sands. Pull out tests of piles driven into Manche calcareous sand and groutedare carriedout. The results showing a significant improve of the bearing capacity, are studied relatively to theproperties of sand. |
