| Abstract | The study aimed at comparing the health level of Islamic and conventional banks in the period of 2013 – 2017. The analysis of the health level in the study used a method specified by Bank Indonesia (BI) namely CAMEL (Capital, Asset, Management, Earning, Liquidity). The capital component uses Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), the asset component uses Non-Performing Loans (NPL) and Earning Asset Quality (KAP), the management component uses Non-Profit Margin (NPM), the earning component uses three ratios: Return On Assets (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE), and BOPO, and the liquidity component uses Loans to Deposit Ratio (LDR). The type of research is quantitative using data analysis method of sample t-test for data which are normally distributed and Mann-Whitney Test for data which are normally distributed with IBM SPSS Staisticss 21. The samples of the study were PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri and PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia which are registered under Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK/Financial Services Authority) as the banks with the largest asset in 2017. The result indicated that based on the comparative analysis of PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri and PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, there were significant differences in terms of CAR ratio, NPF/NPL, NPM, ROA, ROE, BOPO and FDR/LDR. There was no significant difference in the KAP Ratio. |
