| Abstract | Immigrant classmates who were not eligible to receive tutoring and counseling also benefited from the program. Being in the same class with a student enrolled in the program led to a 6.4 percentage point decrease in grade repetition for immigrant boys (a 33.3 percent decrease) and a 9.1 percentage point increase in enrollment in more prestigious tracks for immigrant girls (a 21.7 percent increase).
