| Abstract | Critical thinking skills is capability fundamental required in learning, including in learning mathematics. This ability are needed in learning to understanding the concepts more deeply. One of learning to be applied is cognitive conflict learning. Cognitive conflict learning make students think to the stage of higher (critical thinking). This study aims to explain how cognitive conflict learning applied to mathematics learning able to improve the critical thinking skills. The method used in this research is literature study (library research). The data in this study is a secondary data such as the results of the research as scientific books, scientific journals, research reports, and other relevant sources. The research result showed that the cognitive conflict learning to the stages of learning, among others (1) preliminary; (2) conflict; and (3) resolution, has relevance to the indicators on critical thinking skills, namely (1) interpretation; (2) analysis; (3) evaluation; and (4) decision. So that it can be concluded that cognitive conflict learning able to improve the critical thinking skills. Keyword: cognitive conflict learning; critical thinking skills. |
