| Abstract | This research addresses the issue of non-banking Government funds to which micro, small and medium enterprises (SMES) in Mexico may have access. The purpose of this study is to provide updated information to SMES in Mexicali, Baja California to help them identify different options available when they require non-banking government funds. Research on the theme, as well as the conceptual and legal framework of trusts is analyzed. It outlines and explains the procedure applied by federal, state and local Governments for the delivery of funds. Research is done under the degree of knowledge that SMES had on the types and amounts of non-banking funds. This is a descriptive research quantitative in nature. It also explores a nonprobability sample, a convenience sample of 30 companies that agreed to participate in this research. One finding in this investigation was that in Mexicali, Baja California, trusts are not disclosed in full when promoted by the federal government and this creates confusion among employers. The data obtained allowed us to conclude that most SMES are unaware non-bank government support and use their personal savings to finance their operations. |
