| Abstract | In Colombia are registered about 1600 species of ferns and allies, distributed in 33 families and 130 genus, were the Andean zone is the most diverse. Nevertheless, this cordillera is the less studied, and the most disturbed. This document is focused to characterized the ferns and allies flora in the basin of the Chinchina River, which is located on the western slope of the Andean Central Cordillera, Evaluated 25 sites of sampling, where all the Monilophytes and Lycophytes were collected in fertile exemplary looking for, the exemplars are determinate used specific bibliography and be compared with material of the Herbarium COL and FAUC. 155 species, and one variety, distributed in 59 genera and 20 families were registered; the families more diverse were Polypodiaceae (11 genera/28 species), Dryopteridaceae (10/28), Pteridaceae (7/20), Aspleniaceae (1/11), and Hymenophyllaceae (2/10). This represents near 9.6% of the species registered for Colombia. The terrestrial habit, displays the greater percentage of species (62% /, 97 species), followed of epiphytic (30% /, 46), arboreal (7% /, 10) and hemi-epiphytic (0.6% /, 1). Thelypteris gardneriana represents the third registry for Colombia, also 35% of the registries (53 species), are new for the Department of Caldas. A key for the genera and the catalogue of the species is presented. |
