Abstract	The results obtained during my research of master revealed that the poor quality of outdoor space group is the main cause of discomfort experienced by the users (Lamraoui, 2001). To do so, in this study, drawn from my PhD research in progress, we emphasize the role of design quality in the creation of a diversity of environments relevant to the development of a sense of well being in individuals. This is precisely what motivated us to choose the housing estates of F. Pouillon in Algiers in order to validate the hypothesis that the spaces provided with characteristics of founders sites would generate a sense of well being and foster community life and neighborhood.
