| Abstract | The developed form extraction method in complex images is based on functioning properties of human visual system. It includes several sequential processing : 1) spatial analysis of contrast luminance based on the application of logarithmic function on the image, then the computation of a multi-scale decomposition. 2) thresholding of contrast maps following the Contrast Sensitivity Function, 3) region segmentation 4) geometrical and structural description of obtained regions, 5) coarse to fine scales exploration to describe the regions under tree shape and to get the fine details allowing to identify this regions with objects. The integration of this extraction as a pre-processing in a object recognition system is suggested. |
