| Abstract | Well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma (WTC) constitutes 1% of all types of cancer and it is the most common endocrine neoplasm. Treatment with thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine allows for excellent long-term survival rates but patients sometimes develop secondary tumors. The development of multiple myeloma in WTC survivors has been previously described but a causal relationship between the two conditions has yet to be established. We here in present the case of an 83 year-old woman who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma 10 years after being in remission from a papillary thyroid carcinoma. |
