| Abstract | Operation of the proposed Garrison Diversion Unit will supply water from the Missouri River in North Dakota to the upstream part of the James River basin. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation initiated a monitoring program in 1984 to aid in determining whether the potential impacts resulting from Garrison Diversion Unit operation will be compatible with the operational objectives of the three national wildlife refuges located on the James River in North Dakota and South Dakota. This report presents water resources data collected by the U.S. Geological Survey during water year 1988 in the James River basin as part of the Garrison Diversion Unit monitoring program. Water discharge records for 12 stations, reservoir elevation and contents records for one station, stream gage-height records for three stations, and water-quality records for 23 stations are presented. |
