| Abstract | Time-correlated single photon counting (TC-SPC) is a powerful optical emission spectroscopy technique for investigation of repetitive discharge events. It offers a high temporal resolution, high dynamic range and possibility to trigger on stochastically appearing plasmas. TC-SPC technique is found to be very effective in investigation of the fundamental breakdown phenomena where all three above mentioned advances are of high significance. Here, we present briefly the principles and basics of this technique, reveal the history of its application in discharge physics and introduce several examples of its application made recently. The contribution refers to more detailed expertise in main articles on the topic. |
