| Abstract | The aim of this study is to carry out a technical assessment for critical processes in the Department of Information Technology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador using the COBIT 5 framework. For the identification of this processes, a matrix was used, which recorded with full description the criteria established in the framework, gathering information from interviews, questionnaires and the review of current standards and the state of criticality of each of the processes in different areas of the Information Technology Department. COBIT 5 helped to determine the capability dimension of the processes defined as most critical, in order to issue a report from the evaluation, which contains the detailed findings, conclusions and recommendations. When implemented, they will improve management and operation of each process. Additionally, the Information Security Office of the University signed a commitment that will monitor this assessment and all its inherent activities. |
