| Abstract | Analyze researches on the strategies for prevention and treatment of chemical dependence in Brazil from 2002 to 2011. This research was conducted in databases using the integrative literature review. Were included thirty articles, of which 17 (56.6%) used the qualitative method, 12 (40%) and the quantitative method 01 (3.3%) qualitative and quantitative method. The diversity of journals and publishing issues led the discussion on strategies for prevention and treatment strategies. The Family Health Strategy is the reference in the health service however yet fragile, as the need for ongoing training of health professionals and the structuring of the support network. It is inferred that the training and qualifications if there are incipient motivational measures with practice reinforced by multidisciplinary and intersectoral teams.
