Abstract	Ozet: Bu calisma, 1989:Q1- 2003:Q4 donemini kapsayan verilerle disa aciklik ve ekonomik buyume degiskenleri arasindaki nedensellik iliskilerini ve dinamik etkilesimleri VAR ve varyans ayristirmasi yontemlerini kullanarak arastirmistir. Disa aciklik degiskenleri olarak, dis ticaret hacminin ve ithalatin RGSMH’ya oranlari ile ihracat artisi kullanilmistir. Analizlerden elde edilen sonuclar disa aciklik ve ekonomik buyume arasinda cift yonlu bir nedensellik iliskisi oldugunu gostermektedir. Bununla birlikte, buyume ve ithalat arasinda cift yonlu, ithalattan ihracata ve ihracattan buyumeye dogru tek yonlu nedensellik iliskileri oldugu belirlenmistir. Calismanin sonuclari, icsel buyume teorilerinin one surdugu disa acikligin ekonomik buyumeyi arttiracagi hipotezini desteklemektedir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Aciklik, Ekonomik Buyume, csel buyume Teorileri, VAR Abstract: This study investigated causality relationships and dynamic interactions between openness and economic growth by using VAR and variance decompositions for 1989:Q1-2003:Q4. We used the rate of foreign trade and imports in GDP and exports growth as an openness variable. Results of the analysis denote there are bi-directional causality relationships between openness and economic growth. Besides, we determined there are bi-directional causality relationships between economic growth and imports, and unidirectional causality from imports to exports and from exports to economic growth. Results of the study uphold the hypothesis that the openness increase economic growth is put forward by endogenous growth theories.
