| Abstract | SERGI, Tulio Sergi. Electronic waste and its disposal: a study based on consumer insight on reverse logistics and mobile computers. 2013. 51 f. Monograph (Undergraduate) Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering. Universidade Tecnologica Federal do Parana, Londrina, 2013. Due to the significant increase in consumption of electrical and electronic equipment ( EEE ) , also comes the need for policies that address the proper disposal of this equipment after use , ie their destruction , where these devices are turned on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment ( WEEE ) . These wastes when discarded improperly by consumers can generate numerous injury to health and the environment due to its constitution , thus ends up becoming something important to building and deploying systems that aim to extinguish the inappropriate disposal of this waste , enabling their reuse and recycling this . One of the systems set up to this goal was the Reverse Logistics ( LR ) , which is considered as a reverse logistics system conventional sales , aiming to give a suitable destination WEEE and recover these its value. However for the LR to work, consumers must participate effectively in the system , to know their rights and duties . Due to this importance of consumers in the process of WEEE LR main objective of this study was to analyze consumers' knowledge regarding the Reverse Logistics ( LR ) of computers and cell phones in the town of Golden ( MS ) . This goal was achieved with the application of a questionnaire with 8 questions , at random in the town of Golden ( MS ) center. 200 consumers were interviewed. When consumers form asked about what they were doing with your WEEE computer and cell type , they mostly 43 % and 49 % respectively responded that keep these devices . When asked whether they had heard about LR only 20 % said yes, and they heard about this on television ( 44 % ) . When asked whether they knew what LR is only 15 % of respondents said yes, and of these 55 % said they have a role within the LR system. This last number of respondents who answered that they have a role within the system LR , 31 % responded that their role was to return unused products purchased after the point of purchase , the same percentage who responded that their role within the system is that of a mere spectator . The last question of the questionnaire was introduced with the definition of LR found in the National Policy on Solid Waste ( PNRS ) , and after the same respondents were asked when this functionality in your opinion . In this question 75 % of respondents answered that LR does not work and presented as percentage of this 64 % attributed the inefficiency lack of knowledge of the population about their right to return their unused equipment at points of purchase. It is concluded that there is a particular disability of respondents on the concept of LR , its applicability and its role within the system. |
