| Abstract | A new industry standard for clinical trials data, the CDISC Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM), has been developed and is quickly being adopted by the pharmaceutical/biotechnical industry. Thus, for future Marketing Applications to the FDA, companies will need to convert their clinical trials data from various legacy and current internal standards (and non-standards) to the new industry standard SDTM. This will be a major undertaking for any organization, and a data integration/data warehouse tool can be of significant help in this process. SAS Data Integration Studio, (or as it is now known -- SAS Data Integration Studio), is the new SAS product designed to support data conversion and warehouse building processes. Octagon Research Solutions uses Data Integration Studio as the key software application in the process of converting clinical trials data for clients into submission-ready data based upon the CDISC SDTM standard. This paper will discuss various aspects of the Octagon SDTM conversion process that uses SAS Data Integration Studio. |
