Abstract	GAUGING OP THE AMAZON AT OBIDOS USING THE MOVING BOAT AND H LARGE RIVER » TECHNIQUES The hydrometric station for the Amazon at Obidos is the largest in the raorld, with a catchmertt of 4 620 000 km2. Gaugings from 100 000 to 250 000 ms/s are made every quarter by a team from CPRM(2) under the measurement programme of DNAEE (3). After an invitation. to participate in the measurement of july 1987, using the moving boat method, tue used two extra days to carry out a gauging by the cc large river jj technique. The two gaugings are described and the results compared. The measuredflotu of between 220 000 and 230 000 ms/s is one of the largest measured through the velocity field. Este artigo descreve as duas medicges e compara os resultados obtidos por cada metodo. A descarga medida. cujo calor esta na faixa de 220 000 a 230 000 ms/s, e unia das maiores jamais realizadas pelo metodo detalhado.
