El joven militante y el viejo sabio: Relatos sobre el pasado reciente y ethos discursivo en Néstor Kirchner (Argentina, 2003-2007) y José Mujica (Uruguay, 2010-2015)

Abstract	espanolEl objetivo de este trabajo es interrogar, desde una mirada comparativa, las memorias discursivas y los relatos sobre el pasado reciente en los discursos politicos del ex presidente argentino Nestor Kirchner (2003-2007) y del ex presidente uruguayo Jose Mujica (2010-2015) y su incidencia en la configuracion del ethos discursivo de cada uno de ellos. A partir de la idea de que el ethos discursivo se vincula con la constitucion de la identidad politica, sostenemos la hipotesis de que mientras el ethos de Kirchner se identifica con la figura del joven militante setentista, la imagen de Mujica se configura mediante un gesto de distanciamiento con respecto a su rol como lider tupamaro. Asi, sus posicionamientos actuales se explican, en gran parte, por los vinculos que estos discursos establecen con el pasado reciente EnglishThe aim of this paper is to interrogate, from a comparative perspective, discursive memories and narratives about the recent past in political speeches of former Argentine President Nestor Kirchner (2003-2007) and former Uruguayan President Jose Mujica (2010-2015) and its influence on their ethos configuration, that is, the self-image that is projected by their speeches. Based on the idea that discursive ethos is linked to political identities, we argue that while Kirchner’s ethos is identified with the figure of the young activists of the 1970s, Mujica’s image emerges from a disaffection with his role as a tupamaro leader. Thus, their different leadership styles and their current standings can be largely explained through their links with the recent past
