| Abstract | The evolution of the Internet has enabled a significant increase in the quantity and variety of information that is daily published and disseminated. However this increase was not accompanied by the production of mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation to certify data as credible and reliable. The present study proposes to evaluate a set of 20 educational sites in support of learning Portuguese for students of the 3rd cycle of basic education. For this analysis was used a grid of evaluation of educational sites, designed from the study of literature and the analysis of the criteria on which it relies, which is divided into three main areas and is constituted by 53 items. After applying the evaluation grid to the 20 educational sites, proceeded to the collection and processing of data, so that, after the analysis and interpretation of information gathered, it was possible to draw meaningful conclusions that, somehow, contribute to the improvement of educational Web resources and justified the continuation of other research projects.
