| Abstract | In this article, we aim to know the perception and feelings of the health professionals about the barriers in the process of communication with the hearing impaired patients. This isa descriptive research of a qualitative nature carried out with 198 professionals who make up the nursing team of the basic health units, family health unit, health posts and ready municipal care, of a municipality in the northwestern region of the state of Paraná , The data were analyzed using QDA Miner 3.2 software. The results show that (53.40%) of health professionals report negative feelings about the care provided to deaf patients, 60.10% described that the offered service is difficult due to lack of preparation (8.70%), , Being that this barrier directly influences the offered service, and that in the perception of 7.20% of the professionals the attendance was inadequate. The results allow us to affirm that health professionals report negative feelings such as incapacity, impotence, insecurity, embarrassment, and presented themselves unprepared for care, compromising health care. It is suggested the inclusion of a permanent process of qualification of the professionals for the deaf to receive a quality care in the health services. |
