| Abstract | A vortex ring colliding against water surface is visualized. The vortex ring is generated by ejecting a volume of water from a nozzle. As the vortex ring collides against water surface, it generates some secondary vortex rings of opposite rotation to that of the original one. It is observed that collapse of a vortex ring entrains water in a thin layer at water surface into the main water body. |
