In the same period were reported 22 cases of VL in adults over 60 years (2.2%). Most reports were from the Araguaina city (62,5%). VL cases occurred in most neighborhoods in Araguaina, started in central districts and then expanded into the suburbs, where they made the largest number of cases. With regard to sex of patients, the was a low incidence in males, mainly aged over 60 years. The diagnosis of VL was confirmed by laboratory tests in the most cases, but was obtained the serological diagnosis, that isn’t the best diagnostic method.
