| Abstract | The presence of excited Cr ions in the ceramics under study offers an opportunity to probe these materials in the microscopic scale using the internal optical transitions E→ A2. In presence of thermally activated disorder in the ceramics, the experiments conducted using the luminescence spectroscopy show certain vibronic sidebands close to the pure electronic R-lines. The phononic origin of these features is analysed in terms of lattice perturbation in the environment of the Cr sites. |
