| Abstract | 'Specialized content knowledge' of pre-service and novel teachers of Mathematics. The case of geometrical solids Abstract: Specialized content knowledge constitutes one of the required domains of knowledge for teaching Mathematics. Related results with that domain are presented in this paper, as part of a research done on advanced and graduates students in Mathematics Teaching in Argentina. The research was oriented to characterize the knowledge for teaching solids in the two first years of secondary school. In this qualitative-descriptive study, an opened interview was used as instrument. While participants gave signs of a quite consolidated mathematical knowledge, weaknesses were identified in their specialized content knowledge. |
