| Abstract | A novel methoxyflavonol derivative, 2-hydroxy-3-(2-methoxyphenyl)-1H-benzo[f]chromen-1-one (designated DK98) was synthesized and its antitumor activity was evaluated in human HCT116 colon cancer cells. DK98 inhibited clonogenicity of HCT116 cells and induced apoptosis through a caspase-mediated pathway, suggesting that DK98 may have potential as a drug candidate for the treatment of human colon cancer. |
