| Abstract | In this work, a simple, disposable electrochemical sensor based on functionalized Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (f-MWCNT) modified screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) was developed, which was used for the determination of catechol (CT). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy was used to characterize the fMWCNT. In addition, the f-MWCNT/SPCE displayed excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the electrochemical determination of CT. Under the optimized conditions, the sensing platform showed wide linear responses for CC from 0.08 to 725 μM with detection limits (S/N=3) of 30 nM. Furthermore, f-MWCNT modified electrode was also applied to detect practical samples with satisfactory results. |
