| Abstract | In the context of liberal societies, the Government regulates the conditions for citizens to exercise their individual liberties, through the development of security mechanisms. In this context, campaigns allow identifying interpellation processes and the construction of political subjectivities. This paper aims to analyze the way in which the issue of security was described within the discourses of the main parties that were involved in the 2013 election for the Parliament of Buenos Aires Province. The analysis is focused on the main axes that structured the electoral debate: lowering the age of criminal responsibility, the creation of the provincial Ministry of Security, the local police, and the candidates’ proposals on security polices and planning. |
