Abstract	With the arrival of Juan Manuel Santos to the presidency of Colombia in 2010, the energy mining sector has been consolidating as one of the locomotives of economic growth in the country; As a result of the government reforms established by the National Development Plan 2010-2014 and 2014-2018, which have allowed the strengthening of the exploration, exploitation and export of mineral resources, thus generating a greater flow of capital in the country. One of the mining resources that has received the greatest capital transfer in the country has been coal, because of the multiple political and economic benefits granted to investors by the government. In this sense, one of the multinationals that has perceived the most economic incentives in Colombian territory has been Cerrejón; Despite the social and environmental implications of coal mining in La Guajira. Based on the above, the main objective of the present paper is to explain the creation of shared value as an alternative of responsible management in environmental and social terms of greater scope compared to the proposal of CSR established by the multinational Cerrejón, in face of the dynamics In the South of La Guajira. Considering that currently the Multinational is developing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the proposal that is presented here is the implementation of Shared Value Creation (CVC) as a management alternative to the CSR, against the economic, political and social requirements of the south of the Guajira. For this purpose, a case study will be used to understand the dynamics that currently present the Wayuu Community located in the municipality of Barrancas south of La Guajira.
