Abstract	Introduction: Cerebrovascular disease is the result of a set of disorders that develop at the level of cerebral parenchyma irrigation where there will be an alteration in the supply and demand of oxygen as glucose. Objective: To determine the prevalence of CVD and the risk factors associated with it. Method: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in which the incidence of vascular brain disease and more frequent risk factors associated with it in the Internal Medicine service of the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital during the months of January to September 2018; The SINGHO System was accessed, where the clinical history number of 131 patients was obtained and then data collection and analysis were performed. Results: An incidence of Vascular Brain Disease of 0.048 was found; in the Ischemic type it was 0.0398, being the thrombotic cerebral infarct the one with the highest frequency (0.020); and in the hemorrhagic type it was 0.008, with intraparenchymal hemorrhage being 0.006 of the total population. There was a higher incidence of cases in the male gender (0.065); and a greater association to patients who were within the age group of those over 80 years. It was also determined that the main risk factor associated with CVD was high blood pressure, representing 72.52% of the total sample. Conclusions: Ischemic CVD of thrombotic origin is the one with the highest incidence, finding more cases of this pathology in the male gender and that develops in the age group of those over 80 years, presenting as the main risk factor associated with hypertension
