| Abstract | We surgeons have always had a lifelong commitment to learning. From the first day that we were dropped off at the kindergarten door until well into our retirement from clinical practice, we are constantly on a quest for new knowledge and skills. Like you, most of the procedures and techniques I perform in my surgical practice today I did not learn during my residency training program. The growth of medical knowledge and application of technological advances has occurred exponentially in the past decade. Medicine and surgery are much more complex, and our patients’ expectations are much higher because of these amazing advances. |
