| Abstract | The purpose of this study is to describe metacognition skill of the students in the grade X of science 2 in SMA 3 Jember in resolving Math story question on the SLPDV subject. This study is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data collection method which is used are tests and interviews. The research subjects are all of students in the grade X of science 2 who took the tests and interviews based on the results of the analysis. In this research, the data analysis which is done uses descriptive analysis. The analyzed data in this study include the answer sheet of the student's test about Math story question then it is analyzed to classify the level of mathematical ability is very high, high, medium, low or very low and the interviews' results to determine the completeness of metacognition's skill conducted by researcher to the research subjects. However, based on the results of data analysis in this study resulted that in the grade X of science 2 was not found students with low math ability. Based on the completeness of students' metacognition skill resulted four points. The first, the students with “very high” level of math skill are able to fill all of the skill such as planning skill, monitoring skill and evaluation skill except prediction skill. The second, the students with “high' level of math skill are capable to fill the two skill includes planning skill and evaluation skill but they cannot fill the prediction skill and monitoring skill. The third, the students with “medium” level of math skill are only able to fill evaluation skill and they cannot fill three other skill such as planning skill, prediction skill and monitoring skill. The last, the students with “very low” level of Math skill are not able to fill all of the metacognition skill. |
