| Abstract | This study aimed to analyze and describe the manifestations of occupational stress of the technical coordinators who work in the Emergency Mobile Service (EMS) in Minas Gerais. It is a descriptive case study of qualitative approach. 10 managers working in the emergency department were interviewed. The data were analyzed through the technique of content analysis. The results showed that the majority of managers consider themselves to be frequently stressed, where the nature of the work has contributed importantly to this state. The symptoms of stress identified were anxiety, nervousness, distress and insomnia. As strategies for coping with stress, physical activity and leisure activities were identified with the participation of family and friends. Even in the face of many problems and tensions originating in the nature of work and the occupational environment, the majority of managers surveyed feel professionally fulfilled, especially considering the relevance of their work, which ultimately saves lives. |
