| Abstract | As fraturas radiais e ulnares sao comumente encontradas na rotina dos cirurgioes veterinarios e os metodos de tratamento destas sao muito variados. E relatado o caso de um canino atropelado com fratura bilateral de radio e ulna; apos tres dias da estabilizacao do paciente e colocacao de atadura de Robert Jones nos membros fraturados, realizou-se a osteossintese. Utilizaram-se fixadores externos em ambos os casos, porem, as reducoes foram realizadas de forma fechada e aberta. No membro em que se utilizou reducao fechada a consolidacao ossea ocorreu sete dias antes do membro contra-lateral, demonstrando superioridade desta tecnica. ABSTRACT The radial and ulnar fractures are commonly found in the veterinary surgeons' routine and the methods of treatment of these fractures are very varied. It's related the case of a canine to knock down and had a bilateral fracture of the radius and ulna. After the patient's stabilization, a tie of Robert Jones was made in both members until the osteosynthesis. External fixators were used in the two members, however with reductions closed and open. In the member that reduction was closed, the bone consolidation happened seven days before the other, demonstrating superiority of this technique.
