| Abstract | The pathology of the constructions studies the origins, the forms of occurrence and the consequences of the problems (defects) in the constructions. It is also known that pathologies are subject to appear in any type of construction, due to factors such as noncompliance with technical standards, disqualified labor, poor planning, low quality materials, among others. In many of these constructions the ceramic coatings were heavily used and, in general, if well executed and with quality materials, they can mainly provide protection against aggressive agents and long service life. On the other hand, lack of planning can lead to cyclical repairs that lead to avoidable expenses. In the context of Ipatinga, there is ample use of pellets and other ceramic materials for coating, and its association with a great number of pathologies related to the detachment in facades attracted attention. Thus, n this way, this work exposes the analysis of the main origins of this problem, as well as the characterization of related pathologies and highlight their consequences. |
