El control de la corrupción en los tribunales castellanos durante siglo XVII: ¿quimera o realidad?

| Abstract | Resumen : La visita fue el mecanismo mAis utilizado por la monarquAa para controlar el funcionamiento de los tribunales reales. La historiografAa se ha planteado, y sigue haciA©ndolo hoy dAa, si las visitas fueron eficaces. En este trabajo se intenta arrojar luz sobre esta cuestiA³n. Para ello, se analizan, en primer lugar, las lAocidas reflexiones sobre las visitas de un arbitrista, don Gaspar de Pons; y, a continuaciA³n, se estudian algunos aspectos clave de la puesta en marcha y de la instrucciA³n de las visitas realizadas a las ChancillerAas y Audiencias castellanas en el siglo XVII. Summary : Visits were the most used mechanism by the Monarchy to control the operations of the royal court. Historiography has questioned and continues to question today, whether these visitations were effective. This paper attempts to shed some light on this question. Therefore, we have first examined the clear accounts of visitations from an arbitrator, Mr. Gaspar de Pons; followed by the study of several key aspects of the execution and the instructions for the visitations held to the Castilian Chancelleries and Hearings during the 17 th century.
