| Abstract | In this article are presented the main myths regarding the Internet addresses (IPs), taking into account the regulatory framework currently in operation on the Internet that has proven its efficiency and independence of regulations, laws or agreements at governmental level in any country. Are included key definitions like the types of IP addresses in its 2 versions, IPv4 and IPv6; its current situation in Mexico; distribution and allocation policies, and the various forms of allocation in practice. Then is mentioned the regulatory framework of IP numbers on the legal and market aspects, emphasizing Mexico, but that could be applied to several countries, mainly the Hispanic ones. Finally are presented the myths themselves. |
