Abstract	RESUMEN: El presente trabajo exibe la situacion energetica de Chile, muestra la busqueda que posee Chile ante una inminente crisis energetica, causada por el agotamiento de este recurso. Se exhibe la situacion actual de la empresa Geotermica El Tatio S.A.. Los objetivos especificos del trabajo son: exponer las controversias que existen en la utilizacion de este metodo de obtener energia, presentar el impacto en el sector turistico y el impacto social. Se puede observar el descontento de la poblacion ante La explotacion en El Tatio, ya que esto danaria el potencial turistico de La zona. La metodologia utilizada en este trabajo se basa en una revision bibliografica y recoleccion de informacion secundaria.
