| Abstract | The improved pastures are more used in intensive farms and the objectives for this investigation were to set the grass Brachiaria hybrid CV. CIAT BR02/1794, determinine the best planting method for a population of 40,000 plants per hectare. Final density, final height, were evaluated as well as the percentage of germination of leaves and steam, biomass production and dry matter, during three cycles. The investigations took place at Escuela Agrícola Panamericana Zamorano, in an area of 20 × 20 m. It was used a factorial arrangement of 2×2 was used, as factor A are two spacing between bed and factor B are two planting methods that compare field germination versus plant productions on a greenhouse. It was applied a complementary random design for each repetition. There were no difference in germination percentages between the two planting methods (P>0.05), while the final density showed differences (P<0.05), obtaining the expected population with indirect planting methods. The final height and biomass iv production shows differences respected at planting method and cycles. The percentage of stems and leaves also shows differences respected at planting method being the indirect planting method which presents more percentage of stems and the direct planting presents more percentage of leaves. The dry matter showed differences (P<0.05) on spacing between bed being the spacing of 90 cm of more dry matter production. |
