Abstract	The study analyzes the legal nature of public transport. It has been established that tasks in this field are carried out by public administrations and private individuals, using both administrative and civilian forms of action. All these tasks are of a public nature whether they are carried out by public administrations or private individuals. The allocation of certain collective transport tasks to private parties does not change the legal nature of these tasks. They are still public tasks because they serve the public interest, and the responsibility for their proper performance is borne by the public administration.
